[exs-users] Piano samples for the EXS

[exs-users] Piano samples for the EXS

2005-07-15 by Gio

Hi Gang,
OK, I'm getting repetitive of my tired old piano samples. I've overused
the EXS's Yamaha Grand, which is a great patch IMHO.
Also Old (and somewhat Tinny) is my Prosonus Steinway Grand (AKAI disk)
What other great samples are out there that you guys would recommend
for me to look into to spruce up my Piano library?
I realize that a piano is a piano, but some different samples help the
palate of colours.
Thanks y'all
Ciao
Gio

Post Pianos Bosendorfer 290 (better than Old Lady or Emperor IMO)

Buy Synthogy's Ivory, it's the best piano plugin there
is period.

I love the Post 290 for jazz, classical, or new-age type stuff, but
even the dry version is pretty ambient and can be problematic in a
pop or rock setting. I like the Sampletekk White Grand for that, and
the Vintaudio C7 is nice also. And for melancholy stuff, the Art
Vista Malmsjo is great.

I'm looking for a C7 type piano. I already have
Emperor, Old Lady and an East West Steinway D. Given
these, would it be worth the money and memory to buy
Ivory? Can someone comment on Whyman's claim?
Thanks, JP
