Loop slicing

Loop slicing

2005-08-28 by Peter Johnsom

hi

please can some one help me out. if i load a piece of drum audio into exs24 (could be a
loop .wav or sample from cd, doesn't matter), is it possible to auto slice it and map it
across the keyboard. i know the apple loops tool can find the transients, like recycle
(which don't have), but i want to assign each drum hit to a note on the keyboard. i'm using
logic pro 7.1. or what's the best way to cut up loops?

thanks
peter

No, don't use the EXS for this. Use Phatmatik Pro, or just convert
the loops to Apple Loops, they work great, but differently from
Recycle Loops. You won't get MIDI files when using Apple Loops.

Really what you wanna get is Phatmatik Pro. It rocks for this kind of
application and it's not too taxing on the CPU.

Cheers
Hans
