EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I just got Spectrasonics' superb METAMORPHOSIS library in Akai format 
with the intention of using it with the EXS24. There is an 
interesting problem however. The EXS Akai convert dialog (LAWP-PC)
only has room for about 30 programs, and Metamorphosis sometimes has 
many more programs than that in any given Volume. No big deal for me, 
since I have Cdxtract (and Translator), but I can't find any way to 
see more than 30 entries in the EXS conversion box! (i.e., no scroll 
bars)

Is this a "feature" or am I doing something wrong?

BTW: Cdxtract converts the Metamorphosis Groove Menus with no 
problem, but Translator has all kinds of problems with the tuning of 
individual samples/zones. Translator is basically useless for this 
particular conversion.

That has been fixed with 2.1 Build 88 - we were using shared code when 
doing our HALion translation development and we were "double-dipping" when 
compensating for tunings. The bug has been present for only 6-7 days, when 
Build 82 came online.

We just reviewed the whole Metamorphosis set this morning and the results 
look good.

By the way, we noticed that people wanted extended options concerning 
automatic mapping of .wav and AIFF files. Translator incorporates those in 
this Build, with intelligent mapping, customized with key ranges and 
velocities. Translator also enables a full ranges of combining EXS files, 
deleting Zones and adding and inserting Zones.

There will be lot's of additional EXS-specific features coming online 
within a week - I'll keep the list posted. See

Reality is relative. Actually, Reality is a software sampler, but let's put 
that aside for a moment. Web sites are relative. Web sites are also hard to 
maintain. (sorry...)

The "fight for features folks" won out today, so the Build will be up 
Friday AM instead of yesterday (or today, depending on when you read this...)

There were some people who think this is the last build for Version 2.1, 
because we've run out of keys. Actually, they're wrong, since the builds 
are zero-based, and we would've run out of keys last build. Actually, we do 
our builds MIDI-based, which means the builds go up to 127. That's makes 
127 total builds, since we skip 13.

Ugg, you know if one day could come up where nothing goes wrong... =)

You also wonder why sys admin's busiest day is the day before a holiday 
weekend? On that day (according to their secret pacts), they re-configure 
the server, install a new OS patch, replace 50% of the hardware, and don't 
realize that in their hurry to get out the door to buy $10,000 worth of 
camping equipment, they spill their espresso on the server's mainboard.

Actually, I think it works now. Netscape must support Style Sheets weird.
