Trying to find some simple MIDI switches to buy.

Trying to find some simple MIDI switches to buy.

2006-01-22 by Roman Pirie

I need three MIDI switches that have one in and two outs with a switch
that can choose the destination of either output. So if I had a master
keyboard outputting into the MIDI switch in then I could switch between
the two outputs.
My searching on the net found Phil Rees and Kenton MIDI switches. They
are both discontinued products. This makes me think the need for MIDI
switches has changed over the years.
I need three of them.

Roman,

Are you familiar with JL Cooper MSB PLUS? It's very much a 8 x 8 midi Swiss
knife that will respond to external midi commands. On the surface it seems
to me that unless you absolutely need 3 separate devices that 1 unit would
do the trick.

I've used them for years in live & studio racks and have an extra one if you
are interested.
