Greetings All, Any recommendations for realistic sounding/feeling string section sample sets that won't break the bank (under $300)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! John F.

You could contact Gary Garritan and see if he has any copies left. JP

I was all set to jump on the GPO until I learned that it requires an XP operating system for PC. I am running Windows 2000 w/SP 4. Although I have been successful in running other XP-only devices on this system, I spoke to Gary Garritan directly and had an e-mail exchange with someone else from the company and they both said that there was no guaranty that the GPO would work with my system. If there are any users out there with the identical platform running GPO, please let me know what your experiences have been.

GOS predates XP and I would be fairly certain it would work fine on Win 2000. The problem is it may no longer be available. JP

Since it appears that I will not be able to go with the GPO, I will inquire about the GOS set. John F.

James, I e-mailed Gary Garritan. The GOS is not available. John F. --- In exs-users@yahoogroups.com, james page <jimmymio@...> wrote: I was suggesting GOS not GPO. GOS predates XP and I would be fairly certain it would work fine on Win 2000. The problem is it may no longer be available. JP

The only problem is that you have to use a Windows PC to unpack the compressed files. Don

I used it for a couple of years before upgrading to the full GOS library. Don

David, Interesting you should bring that one up. I spent a fair amount of time today checking out the MOTU Symphonic Instrument which appears to be one of the few options I have available to me, given my system and $ restrictions. I plan on making a decision in the next few days and if I go with MOTU, I'll report back once I've been able to give it a test drive. The audio clips and Jordan Rudess video demos are pretty impressive. And the price is right within my budget. Below is the web address to a blog discussing the MSI. May be worth a read, especially for PC users interested in purchasing this software. http://www.pfiggianimsc.com/blog/?p=116 John F. --- In exs-users@yahoogroups.com, amgshaffer <cedar.bay@...> wrote: > > > >>I was suggesting GOS not GPO.
