It doesn't. You have to activate "virtual memory" in the options pulldown.
The bad thing being that this is a global setting, whereas it'd be *way* 
better if it was a per patch one (the way, say, Kontakt 2 is doing things). 
That way, smaller patches would cause a lot less CPU stress when pitching is 
involved and larger patches could still take advance of fast harddrives.

Strange. I've been using Logic for a while now and (to my alarm) only 
realized  recently that the EXS might not be streaming. I'll activate 
it immediately. Hopefully I'll get fewer overload messages...

Global? The plug-in manual [p. 541] seems to assert they're specific:

I haven't checked this personally: maybe it's yet another error, or the manual isn't up to date and this isn't true any longer!

Yes, it is global. You can check for yourself. Load two EXS instances, 
switch virtual memory off or on on one of them, then look at the other and 
you'll see it has been switched as well.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
