I don't quit follow what you mean by "convert"? You don't have to convert Wav or AIFF Files to some other format in order to use them as samples, rather, assemble them into a sample preset, trimming and editing them as necessary, but in order to make an EXS preset out of a collection of Wav or AIFF Files, you need the full EXS 24 - the EXSP is just a player which will allow you to load and play EXS presets.
