I'm trying to switch EXS in Logic Studio (8.1) from poly to legato using a pedal switch. The Logic 8 manual does not even list the controllers for any of these functions, though Logic 7's manual tells me it's CC 71. But I can't seem to get CC71 (or any other controller) to talk to EXS in either version of Logic - is there something I'm forgetting about here? -- with best wishes, John http://abram.ca

Hi John , I just checked, by hooking up a monitor to the channel strip, and it seems like the three modes are controlled by fader message 7. A value of 0 is poly, 1 is mono, and 2 is legato. Don't forget that these respond to fader messages; so you'll need to hook up a transformer in the environment to convert the incoming pedal messages appropriately. Also, don't forget that with L8's internal architecture, the instrument plugins are set to respond on MIDI channel 2.
