Re: [exs] G4 Softsynth compatibility!

Re: [exs] G4 Softsynth compatibility!

2000-09-22 by David Eager

I just tried running EXS24/ES-1/ReBirth/RetroAS.1 [ver2][via rewire]
together on my g4/400 [320mb RAM] LAP4.6, ATA66-7200rpm drive, 6voices
polyphony in ES-1 8voices polyphony in RetroAS-1. It ran very rough on
the RetroAS-1 end, the redraw froze and the retro audio was crackly. It
was fine with the other 3 running, I don't know if the Retro VST plugin
would behave differently. When I have more time I will try some
different settings [buffer , polyphony etc], and some other VST2
instruments, but I daresay it will probably work with some tweeking,
[and maybe a G4/450MP, hehe]
I can't see why Reaktor couldn't be substituted for Rebirth, given
enough RAM and CPU grunt.

oh and I WAS running Netscape at the same time

Akai Conversion...what's fixed in 4.5.1?

2000-09-24 by Phil Buckle

The release notes for 4.5.1 refer to an improved Akai conversion for EXS24
but it still won't find the audio files on my D Jaeger Akai disc...same
problem as before. So what's fixed?
Phil Buckle.

Hate this random exs24 security: Bring on the dongle already

2000-09-24 by Aaron Rosenberg

You know, I am a knucklehead when it comes to life and I can't always find
the dang cd when it is randomly required by the new copy protection scheme.
I paid for this software and it is such a nag. I mean what if everyone
chose this as the preferred method to authorize software. I'd be in and out
of the stupid cd tray like it was a part-time job.

And as for the question of whether you can reasonably perform live with this
sampler... Are you kidding? That's all I need is for the insert prompt to
appear for certification to give me instant disabling while a crowd is
waiting. Fix this and come up with another way,

--cause man, this just ain't it.

Please. Really, please.

Thanks,
Aaron
