Thanks for the sounds. I'm really digging the bass and filthy drum kit.

Note: I am running on Mac. When I downloaded the files, the EXS files were
seen as text files. I had to use a freeware utility to change the "type" and
"creator" codes (Mac folks may understand this) to make my Mac view the
instruments. I also had to reboot Logic to allow them to appear. Later I set
up file exchange to view ".exs" files as Logic files, but I haven't tested
the auotmated process yet. In any case, it only took a minute to change the
creator codes to a useable file type. Thanks for the sounds. They work
perfectly (I wasn't fond of the choir though; I was imagining something more
realistc).

PS: if anyone has some good cellos or real-sounding strings, I'd love to get
some. Thanks in advance.

Yes! I'm loving the double bass and today am going to try the others I
downloaded.

I had this probem too. It was something in preferences of Stuffit 5.5 (tell
it not to automatically convert documents to text)

I second that.
Also a great piano!
So far, I still love my EMU piano sample that came with my ES1-32 the best
even though it's only a two-floppy patch- but it sounds great. I'm not too
impressed with the piano that came wih the EXS24 although the rhodes and
strings are cool.
So if you ever get a great piano sample set up there, I'm in...

This is not necessary, you can just throw it into the Sampler Instruments
folder.

Thats normal in the current version.

Usually it is only necessary to throw the stuff to the Sampler folders
and everything works fine (reboot Logic of course).

Raymund, that's rather an assuming statement and I deserve more credit that
that. I guess it didn't occur to you that I tried that first. It didn't work
which is why I posted the suggestions in the to begin with. Despite the fact
that the files were placed in the appropriate folder, Logic did not
recognize the files properly (on the Mac).

My feeling is that the first respondent's suggestion of changing the setting
in Stuffit Expander was the correct answer to the issue. Perhaps it's not a
problem for you, but you don't need to insult my intelligence.

I'm sorry if it sounded like this - I didn't think this. But I never had
to change creators and types...

I must say I agree with ray, even though I think it still has something to
do with the stuffit prefs.

When my files got unstuffed, I even accidentally thought 'oh let's have a
look at this text file?' opened it (the EXS Instrument !) as a text file!
It says gobbledegook. by the way!

Then I went 'oops', stuck it in the instruments folder anyway, tried it
and guess what, it worked...I'm on Mac.

Ray, I apologize as well. My reaction was unwarranted. I later re-read your
post and came to the conclusion that you meant well. Thanks for your
support.

Interesting, but it didn't work in my case. It's good to get a consensus
among Mac users though. Thank you both.
