Problem loading instruments: wrong key settings in zone

Problem loading instruments: wrong key settings in zone

2001-10-22 by mbhelmich@cistron.nl

Hi all,

I've bought three cd's from ProSample by www.bestservice.com today:
vol. 10, 14 and 28. They're sounding really good.

I've a little question about the EXS24 Instruments on vol. 10. I'm
not able to load them well in my EXS. I use Logic 4.7.2 on a Windows
98 se PC platform. Hope I can explain what I mean clearly in my best
english.

This is my question. When I load SY Piano, M1 Bass Organ or another
multisample based EXS instrument from vol. 10. the key note off every
zone says C3/60. While the key zone is c1 c#2 for example and the
sample used in this zone is a recording of a played c1. This is
causing very bad and not natural pitch transfers between key zones.
Is this caused by a bug in the EXS24/LAWP 4.7.2, Am I doing something
wrong or are the key note settings for each zone in the EXS
instruments not saved right on the cd?

With the 'Guitar Merenque 136 All' EXS instrument from vol. 14 I've
got the same problem: also a wrong key note (C3/60) is shown in the
instrument editor that causes a pitch that's way to high. I can't
imagine both CD's containing this kind off defenition failers in
their EXS instruments, so I'm beginning to think that Logic isn't
reading the definition files right or I'm doing something wrong.

Regards,

Maarten
