Setting .exs/EMAG file type or not

Setting .exs/EMAG file type or not

2000-10-09 by Canton

Hi, I've confirmed for myself that stuffit expander when expanding
zip files will interpret .exs files as .txt -- fair enough.

However when I've dropped those TXT type .exs files in my Sampler
Instruments folder, Logic recognizes them none the less.

Can someone confirm that this is definitely *not* the case for them?
Maybe there's and older/newer version of EXS and one of them doesn't
parse .exs files the same way as the other.

Giving the situation the benefit of (my) doubt I've created a .exs
drag-and-drop autotyper. You can get it at:

http://207.171.197.21/exs-download/convert2EXS.sit.hqx

If someone (a mac user)can confirm the following, it would be great:

1) Download and un-zip a sample set from http://www.ontology.com/exs24
2) Put the instrument.exs file and the instrument-samples folder in
your Sampler Instruments folder
3) Launch Logic & EXS24 - does the instrument show up?
4) No? Quit logic, drag the instrument.exs file on the convert2EXS application
5) Repeat 3) and see if it fixes things.
