Audio instrument keeps reading panning...

Audio instrument keeps reading panning...

2001-11-16 by Micke Nilsson

just purchased my exs-24 and evp88...and i recorded a couple of trax in
logic and decided to pan them a bit while the sequence was
playing...consequently the pan pods kept automatically doing the same
panning every time i played back the sequence...ie i saw the pods rotating
like the first time i was doing my adjustment...this would be cool if wanted
the panning to change through the seq but i'm wanting the pods to stay where
i put them...appreciate some help on this...i'm a new logic user and may
have hit some command inadvertantly...aargh...thanx. micke nilsson

That's because you first moved the pots when you were in record mode. I
struggled with this myself the first few times.

You can repair this by going to the Event Window, selecting all of the
relevant movements, and deleting them.

One useful tip -- when doing this is to use the buttons on the left hand
side of the event list editor to turn off the display of all the note
events or any other events you want to preserve like pitch bend or
aftertouch. Then all the events remaining can be selected in one action and
deleted.

Murray

Defenitely.
Also, selecting the first panning event and doing a "select similar events"
is a nice thing to achieve quick results.

Sascha

Yep -- the event editor is one of the best executed sections of Logic. It
has many excellent time-saving features and will reward anyone who gets to
know
it.

Highlight the track. Open your hyper edit. CMD+5 (mac) or CNTRL+5 (pc). You
should see the pan data, which you can then delete.
