The soundfont suffix should be .sf2 (not .dmf -- don't know that one).

LAMP - Help with SoundFonts

2001-11-19 by beathive@hotmail.com

Sorry I need a little more help here. I downloaded some SoundFonts
which seem to come in .dmf files. I dragged them to the Sampler
Instrument folder as instructed in a previous post but it didn't work.
I then tried using the convert to EXS freewhere that I got from this
group but still no luck.

I think this is a MAC issue.

Any help?

Thanks

This is not a soundfont format...
soundfount format appears like *.SF2, it is probably a compression of sf2
format

According to Awave (very nice fileconverter, www.fmjsoft.com) .dmf means
"Delusion/XTracker Digital Music Fileformat.Delusion/XTracker Digital Music
Fileformat."

Sometimes you can just rename those files, but most likely in this case
you'll be lost (Awave isn't available for Macs).

Anyways if you need some soundfonts, you could check out:
http://thesoundsite.ismi.net/ and
http://www.hammersound.net/
You will find loads there.

Be careful though, some of them are compressed using sfArc or sfPack - both
available for free from www.megota.com - but they are Windows programs so
you might have to have Virtual PC on your Mac.

Regards,
Sascha

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
