[exs] how to limit exs' "search range"?

[exs] how to limit exs' "search range"?

2001-11-22 by Toranaga

Hi list,

I organized my sampler instruments and stored them neatly in linked folders,
as described before.
But I also keep the samples files on another harddisk (identical folder
structure there); now, whenever I load an instrument, exs seems to scan all
my harddisk for the samples (which is more time-consuming then necessary).
Is there a known way to limit this search to a specific disk? I thought I
read so somewhere, but can\ufffdt find this info anymore, I checked the archives
also, but no luck.
If somebody could give me a hint please...

Regards, Tora

Open the EXS instrument editor and then go to preferences in the edit menu.
All the additional settings for the Exs24 are to be found there.

In the edit samples window, there is an edit menu, and in that there is a
preferences drop down.

In here you can choose which drives are scanned

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
