Your ISP has blacklisted my ISP host, so I can't send you message directly (don't ask me why). My friend brought HALion over to my place to see how well it would convert soundfonts. The results were the same as the EXS. It seemed to work fine in general. Then I found out the EXS did the same job, neither of which translate the mod/filter data. So I scrapped the idea of buying HALion for myself, in lieu of Translator's forthcoming capability of completely translating soundfonts, complete with filter/mod data. Other than that, I've got too much invested in the EXS to start using Halion religiously. Unfortunately, that means I can't offer extensive advice about it. I haven't used it since I learned it wouldn't translate all the data from soundfonts. Looks very nice though from what I have seen. Multi-timberal/multi-outs are very enticing features. I wonder if it does crossfade sample switching... I'll have to look into that. :)
