Is EXS24 good for drum samples?

Is EXS24 good for drum samples?

2000-07-31 by Glenn Bartlett

I'm thinking of purchasing the EXS24 to use primarily as a drum
sample player. Is it good for this purpose or is it more suited to
playing sampled keymapped instruments? Can the individual hits of a
drum kit be fed to separate effects ie different reverb for snare and
different EQ for snare/kick etc, or would this require a separate
EXS24 instrument for each part of the kit?
Has anyone compared it to the Koblo gamma 9000 for drums or the Unity
sampler? How does it rate? I would appreciate some feedback from
someone who has used it for this purpose.
TIA

As Thomas said this is only possible with new instances - but thats not a
problem IMO since its possible to open 16 instances.

Playing back drumsounds is not a big job for a sampler. I used to use the
LM4. The EXS is much, much more flexible since you can add filter,
envelope etc. The CPU usage is extremely low - maybe comparable with the LM4.
Gamma follows a different concept since it has a sequencer in it.
