Hmmmm... impressive, indeed! A lot of what I have been asking Emagic for
months. Emagic better get its ass in gear (no offense), but I bet they don't
have crappy looping and midi override problems. The EXS is a great
achievement, but it's a competitive world and the HALion looks very
attractive.

At least now Emagic has a very clear "to do" list.

The variety of filters and ability to use them on separate samples is
huge.

I love the EXS though. I still have not turned on my Emu since I got
it.

Hmmm, but what about your Emu libraries? Aren't there some sounds there that
you want to use, and if so do you manually import them into EXS? I have done
this for many of the Wizzoo drum samples that came with the LM4 but it's a
bit tedious.

http://www.cdxtract.com Converts Emu libraries as well as far as I remember.

Cool. Shame it's not a native mac app as well. I tip eventually that someone
will come out with the definitive Sample format translator program that will
send your library seamlessly in any direction - from any format to any other
format. Heck maybe we may even see a standardised sample instrument format.
Like the midi file format sort of thing but for complex multisampled
instruments...

Just dreaming...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
