File rationalisation of audio samples

How about just copying them, as you would with any files? Then put
an alias to that new folder in your Logic folder, so Logic quickly
finds those samples.

Hi Hendrik

The problem is that as the guys have made new instruments they have
placed the samples on various hard drives as such I am not sure where
all the samples are. I have just spent 3 hours laboriously copying
all the audiofiles inst by inst to a new folder. I just hope this is
the solution. I frequently get the maessage more than one copy found.
It would be nice to have a safe 'delete duplicate' set up

regards

Peter

Ah... that makes a difference indeed :).

Got the same problem here. Still not sure how to handle that...

If you are Mac-based. Use Sherlock to do a custom search for the EXS
instruments by searching for the EXS file type, which you can identify by
downloading Invisible File Copier from my Web site and viewing an EXS file.
Take that information and do a custom search in Logic on all drives for that
file type.http://musicbootcamp.com/exs24.shtml

I had the impression his problem was that the _samples_ are all over
the place, not the exs instruments themselves (which are indeed easy
to find with your suggested method).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
