For the first time, I have successfully run Translator (without a problem)
on VirtualPC using VPC 4.0 (VPC 3 had problems with the right mouse click
compatibility--not the fault of Translator, I believe, since it was mended
when I converted to VPC 4). Works like a charm! And since VPC shares a
folder with the Mac OS, you can simply drag the instrument to the shared
folder, enter the Mac environment, drag the sampler instruments to
instruments folder, leaving the samples where they rest in the shared folder
while you test the conversion); however I recommend a lot of RAM for this
tip if you plan to run VPC and Logic concurrently. Rejoice, Mac users!
PS: I contributed to beta testing of the EXS conversion for Rubber Chicken.
They have been very responsive to critical analysis. I must say that
Translator 1.4 is a phenomenal tool and has faithfully converted many of my
libraries already (from Ensoniq format). As I told them, it is a dream come
true. Goodbye ASR-10; now I can finally sell you...
Best Wishes,
Jer
