Problem with Akai convert

Problem with Akai convert

2001-01-06 by Morten Granum

Hi all,

Just tried to convert a few samples from an Akai sample CD. I selected a
volume containing 3 programs and the Akai convertion throws everything into
one three-layered EXS24 instrument. Is this what's supposed to happen? I
thought maybe it would be intelligent enough to make three seperate
instruments...

Anyone?

Hi,
I haven't had this problem but if you select the layer, delete it and paste
it into a new instrument you'll be running in about 5 minutes and the repair
is permanent. I've run into some tunings that were interpreted wrongly by
the EXS. Sort of a pain but the fix took about 10 minutes and now it is
done. Hope this helps.

Yeah, well, this is a workaround but I believe it has to be a bug in the
Akai conversion module. I just recently experienced (w/ a different akai
sample cd) a message saying that this program couldn't be converted cause it
couldn't find the samples... So I started cdxtract to check this out, and
there it played all the samples just fine...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
