I'm a little confused. I went to http://MusicBootCamp.com/exs24.shtml and
downloaded the little utility that converts PC "text" .exs files to Mac
files with the correct "creator/type." So I'm happily changing my scads of
PC "text" files, when I decide to do backtrack and do a little test. I could
swear that EXS24 had read these files successfully even though they are not
Mac files. I also know that If program data (fxb/fxp) for VSTi's does not
have the correct "creator/type" info, i.e. if they are PC "text" files, they
WILL NOT load. So I boot Logic, run EXS24 and, sure enough, the PC files are
read o.k. Hmm, am I missing something here? Does Logic/EXS24 automatically
read these PC files? Also, is there any advantage to converting the files?
I'd like to know before tackling the 2,664 .exs PC files that have been
translated from the Akai library!
Thanks for any info.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
