[OT]EXS, plug-ins and CPU consumption

[OT]EXS, plug-ins and CPU consumption

2002-05-15 by Raphaƫl TIDAS

Hello,
A bit off topic, but i would like to know if some of you (non-TDM Logic
users) "easily" reach the CPU limits when working with lots of plug ins and
exs24 inserted. I wonder if the (only) way to get more room is to
synchronize" two G4 1gHz or wait for a G5 4gHZ ? :-)
I am Logic TDM user (Ptools mix cube ....) but i see lots of new virtual
instruments, plug ins etc... Supposed to work as native. So except for the
audio quality and blah blah blah... Can we enjoy songs with 24 exs24
inserted, 48 audio tracks with vst plug ins inserted, plus emagic plug ins
etc... Without stepping into TDM's world ?

Thanx :-)

Raphael.

P.S : forgive my lack of english grammar and vocabulary !

How much do you consider a lot of plugins?
