Spectrasonics will definitely be supporting OSX VST platform for Stylus and
all of our future instruments. This is what Cubase SX uses, so it's a given
for us. We are really hoping that Emagic does support OSX VST because no one
supports Apple Audio Units yet. Emagic has said publicly on the Logic Users
forum that they are seriously thinking about dropping VST support in OSX,
which we feel is a huge mistake. My guess is they won't do anything so
drastic. No matter what Emagic does, we are commited to the Logic platform's
future.
Can't promise that our OSX upgrades will be free, but if not they will be
very reasonable and most likely included with other cool stuff we are working
on, so it would be a very high bang for the buck if there is a nominal cost
involved. It will take us some time to get OSX compatibility fully wired for
Cubase SX and Logic OSX, but it is definitely a priority for us. I would
venture to guess that the same is true for NI too.
Hopefully we'll be there by January....but as we are learning with software,
only time will tell! Rest assured that we are on the case for the future.
