Advise needed on purchase sampler

Advise needed on purchase sampler

2001-01-18 by mbhelmich@cistron.nl

Do I buy an EXS, AKAI S5000 or EMU E-6400????

The thing I want most of a sampler is timming precicion and a
function like Recycle. Can the EXS compare to the hardware samplers???

Yes I think so.
I have put my akai up for sale since using the EXS. If you have a quality
sound card you will get everything you need (my opinion) from the EXS. It
has no problems for my set up and I am using it in a professional situation
every day.
I hope this helps
Peace

EXS is sample-accurate (there is no better timing). Latency is entirely
dependent on you computer I/O and Hammerfall makes the best interface for
minimal latency (essentially measurable by the ear). Compare? Of course.
Don't use an EXS with a laptop for live shows. MIDI input latency is not too
good. Output is impeccable.
