EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

CDXtract 4  has a source of GIG and a destination of EXS - so in 
theory it should now be possible.  A friend just got ver 4 running 
on XP (Athlon XP 1700+). He said that when he tried the drum demo 
that comes with GigaStudio (< 2mb) it worked OK.  He then tried it 
on a 100+mb file and it is still sitting there, waiting..

So can CDXtract 4 really convert GIG files yet?

Tell your friend that there is a tech support at cdxtract, someone reported
this problem but on Mac so I guess it's not your friend.
This problem happened with some Gig files with dimensions. Because
the EXS doesn't have a dimension concept, it is necessary to remove
the unwanted dimensions before the conversion and in one specific
case this process was looping forever.
This problem has been fixed on PC and Mac, tell your friend that he
should write to support@... to get the patch.

I don't see what the problem is. I heard that ESX is going to be able 
to read Gigafiles when the next update comes out...

More to the point for us PC users given recent developments, can Giga read
ESX formats?  (This is a genuine question by the way and not just a
frustrated moan...  I would like to know the answer if any of you ESX
owners also happen to run Giga....)

CDXtract converts from EXS to Giga on PC and Mac.

Thank you Bernard for your answer, I will tell my friend Mike to 
write for the patch. I will print out your answer for him (He is not 
on the internet) and could you explain what exactly are dimensions 
in case he asks, cos I don't know either :)
