I also have the Garritan Orchestral Strings. I fully agree on the sampling,
the programming, well, everything!

Out of curiousity, what did you use to transfer from Giga over to EXS?

I thought that the Miroslav was several grand$, not just one. It is outdated
and way overpriced...

Danny,

I'm on a Mac 867. The process was very complicated:

1. Place dvd in tray
2. Slide .gig files into Logic's Sampler Instrument folder
3. Go wash the dishes and make a sandwich as the files transfer from dvd to hd
4. Refresh EXS instrument list
5. Call up a Garritan .gig instrument

:-)

Thank you (once again) Emagic for listening to our Giga request!

Simple:

Tell her that with the royalties you'll earn from writing a soundtrack for
the tv show gig you're going to land through owning such a realistic and
'pro'-sounding string library, you'll take her on holiday to a Carribean
island for her --tieth birthday.

:-)

MOD Settings resetting in Logic

2002-08-23 by HELP@MusicBootCamp.com

You know how synths that use the Mod wheel in a specific position for that
particular patch, and Logic zero's the parameter every time you hit stop???
Does anyone know a way to fix this. This is a serious problem on synths like
Absynth, Pro-52, etc. I need to find a solution for this. I'm doing a remix
right this minute and it's driving me freekin' crazy!!! HELP! Thanks in
advance for any tips. NOTE: I'm already programming the MOD position in
hyper edit mode, but even then it doesn't activate when the sequence
commences. I just want the problem to go away. I wish there was a way to
shut of the mod from zeroing out every time you hit stop in Logic. -Jer

Ned-

Did all the Garritan velocity and/or key switches translate properly? And
have you successfully integrated Maestro tools into your environment? Thanks,

Hi Sean,

Velocity and KSwitch = Yes!
Mod Wheel X-Fade, Warm and others = No.

I have not tried Maestro tools yet. I may give it a shot this weekend...

Thanks for the info, Ned. Keep us posted on your success level with Maestro
Tools. I'm dangerously close to ordering this library.
