I notice that I am experiencing clicks at the end of one shot samples when I use the filters in the EXS24 mkII - as if the samples don't end at zero crossings. The filter settings need to be somewhat drastic for this to happen - but not stupid drastic. Is this typical behavior? I have not noticed this with previous versions of the EXS or with my K2500RS. Thanks, Matt Miller

Don't take it personally. A non response implies that no one has any constructive advice. I've seen all three of your posts.

The way I see it, there are at least a few possible constructive responses to my post. A) No, my filters don't make my samples pop or click. B) Yes, my samples pop and click but this is typical behavior and who cares anyway because you can't hear the clicks in the mix. C) Gee you're right, even though my samples are editied at zero crossing points there is a click at the end of the samples when I use filters. Maybe this should be fixed in an upcoming release. If it's easier, you can respond by simply typing in one of the letters from above. I'm sure there are plenty of less constructive responses as well. All are welcome. -Matt > > > I notice that I am experiencing clicks at the end of one shot > > samples when I use the filters in the EXS24 mkII - as if the > > samples don't end at zero crossings. > > > > > > > > > > > > To unsubscribe from this group, send a blank email to: > > exs-users-unsubscribe@egroups.com > > For a list of places to get free samples please see: > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/exs-users/links/ > > > > > > > > > > > > Your use of Yahoo! Here's another way - e-mail me the .exs file and sample files (stuff or zip them up), or FTP them to ftp.soundcentral.com/incoming (no spaces in the file name), and I'll look at it and see. Sorry, I mean to respond earlier, but Christmas is a busy time of the year (gotta watch Rudolph, you know). Garth Hjelte Sampler User

If a sample clicks or rattless or splatters at any point it's wrong, regardless if certain ones wouldn't be noticable in a mix. What if you'd wanna use it in a silent part of a mix? Talk about yer old creativity-lock.. I have had several instants where I noticed clicks in samples, particularly when using (and when DON'T we use it) the tuning pots on the exs, happened with both the coarse and fine tuners. i also noticed that this occured a lot when using samples I converted from old Akai (1000 and/or 3000) disks the exs-way. I reported this several times to the Emagic R+D team but as ALWAYS (these guys really should see some serious asskickin coming their way sooner or later) without any reply whatsoever. I wish I knew how to fix it, all I know is that with fresh instruments built within the exs I have no problems at all. O.
