[EXS] [LAM] using Groove Control

[EXS] [LAM] using Groove Control

2002-12-29 by Dan Chapman

I recently purchased my first Spectrasonics Groove Control sample CD and am
trying to figure out how to bring Groove control arrange tracks into an
Autoload set up and still keep the settings.

So far, I start out with the Autoload file, then open the Groove Control
midi file and copy/paste the individual midi tracks into the Autoload.
Then, I'll rename the Autoload. This process seems cumbersome and time
consuming. If I want to mix and match form the six or so Groove tracks, I
need to copy and paste them all into separate audio instrument tracks.
There must be a better way?

Hi Dan,

Did you know that you can drag and drop a MIDI file straight into
Logic's arrange window?
I have lots of Spectrasonics stuff and I have an alias to the
respective folders of MIDI files in my Apple menu (on Mac obviously).
When I find a groove I like (by auditioning the mp3's they usually
provide) I just go striaght to the folder and drag the file into my
new song and work.

Dunno 'bout on PC........

Regards - Colin

That sounds easier. I'll try dragging a whole group from one set, one by
one onto different Audio Instrument channels. Thanks.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
