tunings in akai downloads

tunings in akai downloads

2003-01-06 by logicnewbie <bocher@novus-tele.net>

Hey folks, first post, as you can tell by moniker. Found the glorious cone site
for exs patches that connect to akai download files. (Hoorah...SOUNDS!) After
a few sample downloads (Yes, long ones) I fell in love. Got pretty much the
whole library, but... many, many mis-tunings. Some clearly two octaves up I've
heard about this, even downloaded someone elses exs patches recently (I'm
sorry I can't remember who, but I know you give great advice!) but still, wonky
tunings. I've started tweaking in the editor and am wondering if I'm doing this
right...
Set the key note to the audio file note info?
What about zone range?
Should it start at key note and go upwards 'til it hits the next file?
Is all this necessary or am I missing something? There are an aweful lot of
files to manually retune.
Thanks for all the great posts. I've been keeping my head low and listening for
about a month, and hope to one day dispense advice like a sasha or one of
the hienrichs.

What set of samples are you talking about? Probably the Volume 1
"Misc" set, right? This set has quite some problems here and there,
yes. Not much you can do about it, I guess. Still a lot of usable
patches as well though...

Who are the hienrichs?

Some species similar to the "Krauts"?

Sascha "Fritz" Franck

Were there any serious replies to this question? (not to belittle
making sport of the fine art of confusing German names) I've been
looking for updated exs patches to the AKAI samples, especially for
some of the guitars. I started trying to retune them, but they're
coming out worse than when I began. I'm basically looking to benefit
off of someone else's work :)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
