That of course renders the approach of using upper chord structures useless. B) I wasn't talking about having the root being present in the guitar. So - assuming VG would play higher inversions as well - using, say, a C triad with your bass playing a D would give a nice D7/9/sus4. Just as what a git player would do in real life. But of course that won't work with your standard open string strummed C. Cheers, Sascha
