EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

anyone else had logic 6 yet?

got it last night, but haven't had much time to play with new features yet.

one thing I did notice was the new channel eq really sounds 'quality', I 
never realised the FAT eq was so rough sounding!

tape delay also seems to have a few new parameters, now I know how the edge 
used to get his wobbley guitar sound during the 'under a blood red sky' 
days, bit of flutter on his space echo I s'pose.

what d'yall think?

Yes, and the analyser feature of it can be really useful too.

Personally I like it a lot, but then again I'm biased. I think for me the
feature I've been using most is the new project manager though. Its saved me
a lot of hassle recently.

I'm still flying OS9 due to certain plug-ins so I won't be able to use this 
yet,
does sound cool though.

Even then I doubt it will be downloadable via the web. In any case
you will need a special "Logic Version 6" XSKey Code.

I just bought Logic 5.5 a few months ago and now you need to upgrade!

Do you at least get a new manual for 6.0 with the $130 it costs to upgrade?

I would like to hear more logic 6 impressions...

Project Manager works under OS9.

I ordered my upgrade by calling up emagic USA sales.  I should have 
asked
them about downloading.  They said they were going to mail it to me in
two weeks.  I assume it is not available to download.

apparantly.

upgrading is fairly easy, if you're in the uk you can order direct from the 
uk distributor sound technology online,
worked out at \ufffd80-ish, a fair price considering you can pay approx. \ufffd120 for 
the TL-EQ1 which is very cool and the new channel eq sounds better to my 
ears... plus you're getting Freeze, grouping for your mixing, offline 
bounce, the list goes on.

that's not bad for \ufffd80-something quid.

I wouldnt have thought so as the upgrade from earlier versions is normally
more than from the preceeding version. e.g. 4->5 was \ufffd80, 3->5 was more like
\ufffd150.
