as i look into my "sampler instruments" folder, i'm not understanding how
things are set up. is there a specific place for sample "maps" and then
another for the actual samples? it doesn't seem that there is rhyme or
reason on my hard drive and i'm not wanting to delete files that are
necessary... but it looks like i have multiple directories... (some aif,
some wav some exs, etc...)

can anyone help me with this? -- i'm trying to back up my samples to
another firewire drive...

many thanks and blessings.

always,

Done.

Let me know if you'd like to see the email he forwarded to me.

Some guys have already done that, plus some list admins have sent me
the headers of his messages bounced after my warning.

I really have to thank you all guys for your help and understanding.
I have been participating on lots and lots of lists trying to help as
much as I could, and now it turns out I have some really good friends
in this world. I'm really touched by that. Thank you all very much
and please, let's kill this thread.

Best,

Andy

Subject: EXSP 24 & Akai

Hello all. I am new to logic and new to your group so please be kind
if this question is stupid. I have a pc running win XP, logic audio
5.5 and the exsp 24 with the update provided to me from logic. I put
an akai disc in my cd player and win XP can't read it. Additionally,
exsp doesn't read it either. I did RTFM and followed the
instructions provided, however, I have not been able to load the
files (in fact neither logic or exsp 24 sees the files either). To
make matters worse, I just order three more akai disks. Please
>>>>>>>>>>>>help! Thank you.

EXSP is a player only, it can not create the .exs files to play them in
your EXSP VST.

Neither Windows nor Mac OS will recognize an Akai disk.

EXS can do it (I don't know if you can buy it for Windows anymore), and
Translater www.chickensys.com and CDXtract www.cdxtract.com can both do
it.
