EXS24 authorize problems

2001-03-26 by numerology1@hotmail.com

Hi, i searched the archives and still have found little to help me:(
i am running p3 800mghz 512ram 2 30gig wd drives(one for programs and
one for recording to) win98 using logic audio platinum 4.5, ive tried
upgrading to 6 but it starts updating then says no update needed?!
installed es-1, prompted for cd, read it and bang, es1 works!!!
installed exs24 fine, then it goes into the "please insert exs24 cd"
ok, put the cd in and it reads for 3-5 mintues then reprompts for the
cd ect ect, i tried uninstalling my 1(one/only) cd-drive and
reinstalling that, ive also uninstalled my delta 1010, and then
reinstalled it, and to no avail....the exs24 does not like me, any
help appreciated!:)

Same for me. I have had no luck authorizing at all. Just asks again and
again for the cd ad infinitum.
I have a Mac G3 300 running os 9.1 and Logic 4.6.3. SCSI cd writer
disconnected and still no joy. I do have an Adaptec 2940 uw scsi card to a
fast audio drive, which I have no idea why it should interfere. I'm sure it
can't.
Please help. I almost wish I'd used the cracked version I was offered. At
least I would be working now.
Any ideas boffins???????
Peace
Lee

After much messing around I found one problem with EXS24 authorize re-authorize, and found a work-around. I eMailed eMagic about it so they know... hope they fix it.
IFF you have an ATAPI CD hooked to one of the DMA / UDMA connections
AND the Atapi CD is NOT UDMA
AND you have UDMA drives on the same, or other DMA connector.
THEN if you disconnect all UDMA devices then the CD will re-authorize correctly..
If you boot from your UDMA device, then you are screwed. I boot from SCSI. You might try booting from your Windows CD, or some other emergency procedure.

Re: [exs] EXS24 authorize problems

thanks for the tip, but i found the problem to be that a hidden vxd file in
my c:/windows/system/ASPIENUM.VXD was keeping exs24 to authorize correctly,
i removed the file, authorized exs24 and replaced the file and everything is
running perfectly!:)
Thanks to all the great people that helped me with this problem:)
