Xtreme in OSX

2003-04-29 by jaybirdknows

I recently purchased a copy of the Xtreme Analog samples at a music store close out
sale (ie:no returns) and it seems to be an older version which only installs in OS 9.
I'm using OSX and the exs24 mkII. From the advanced folder, I was able to get the
sounds into my sample folder and the basic waveforms folder in my Instruments
folder. That all works. But the Xtreme Analog folder, which I also copied into my
sampler instruments folder, isn't recognized by the sampler, even after I select
"refresh menu".

Any thoughts?

thanks

The EXS24 will only recognise file names of a certain number of
characters. Try shortening the name of the Xtreme analog folder to
less than about 13 characters & you should be in business.

That's weird. OSX can read file names longer than Windows if I'm not
mistaken. Why would Emagic decrease the character length from OS9. I am very
skeptical of this theory. That would be a major blunder by Emagic, and I
would be completely shocked if this was the case. -Jer

I haven't checked the maximum length of filenames recognized by
EXS24, but I am using the Xtreme Analog instruments in Logic 6
under OSX, no problems here.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
