AKAI converter on Mac

AKAI converter on Mac

2003-05-11 by vmendelson

Hi. I'm having problems with AKAI converter on my EXS24. It won't
read the AKAI disks even if I put it in after I go into converter. I
called up the support and they sent me an Apple extension that
should've fixed this problem but it didn't. I'm running on OS 9.1 in
Power Mac G4. Also, I'm using Native Instruments Battery sampler and
it does read AKAI disks but VERY slowly. So I wonder if there is
problems with CD-Rom or extensions conflicting or something else.
Can anybody help me with this problem? Thanks.

A question, are you using Tech Tool? If so, it adds an extension that
may cause this type of problem, as well as Waves plugins taking forever
to load.

I've been watching this thread - perhaps you can download the Translator
demo, run it, and send me the log file that it produces (in the Logs folder
in the Translator folder).

Did you disable the old CD-DVD driver and enable the new one? Also, what is
that new driver named? Is it 1.3.5? Are you trying non-Mixed mode disks and
well as Mixed Mode ones? Are the CD's scratched up or are they clean? Are
they even Akai S-1000/3000 CD's - could they be S-5000 or Pulsar ones?
(Those don't work in the EXS convertor)

Have another CD-ROM Drive?

Any particular reason to stay with 9.1?

Otherwise... Happy Mothers Day

What is the X read form your cd rom? are you transfering to a 7200 rpm HD? if
you are using 9.1 maybe you are using a slow computer....
