SampleCell Import Question

SampleCell Import Question

2001-03-29 by goldkind@pacbell.net

Hey all,

I posted this on the LogicUsers group but no response. So I'll give it a shot here:

While it's great that you can now use SCell libraries with Logic (4.7), is it
not possible to load them directly from the CD-ROM? I.e., MUST you first
copy the insts/samples (and banks) to your hard drive before the EXS24 will
load them?

The reason I ask is that if you don't know exactly what samples an instrument
or insts use, then you might as well load the whole CD, which is hardly
efficient from a storage POV. It would be great if you could just load what's
necessary from the CD and then have Logic copy/save it to your hard
drive. Not complaining, just wondering. (Not even my Logic/EXS rig
anyhoodles!)

From my 10-minute fuddling, it looks like 4.7 is a great improvement. Nice
work fellas!

Thanks,
El

Still get Hung Notes?

2001-03-29 by digitalsurgery

Hi all

Anyone eliminate hung notes?

We continue to get hung notes in polyphonic passages with SC or Akai
conversions in 4.7. We had hoped that this problem would have been solved by
now.

All other extrenal Midi gear is fine. Only EXS hangs notes.

Anyone form Emagic give us some help ? Are there any settings in EXS that
might be creating this problem?

It renders EXS useless if this continues.

Just banks and instruments

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
