Logic's "Strip Silence" function does exactly this. Extract the
audio files into a directory, load them into Logic, strip
silence, regions->new audio files. Should take about 5-10 mins to
do a CD...

I don't think so... this is more a wave editor function.
Soundforge has a similar thing, probably Wavelab too (you didn't
mention whether you are Mac/PC..?)

I'm sorry, you're right. I'm on Mac.

7 years since I started working with logic. SEVEN years.
I knew both functions independently, but never put 1+1 together.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
