Trouble converting .sf2 files in Audiounits EXSP24

Trouble converting .sf2 files in Audiounits EXSP24

2003-07-14 by pinkheadedbug

Hi -- hopefully someone can help me out here.

I am using the EXSP24 in LG6.01 under OSX10.2.6

I am finding it impossible to convert .sf2 files. The EXS24 I have running in demo
mode will convert them just fine.

I put the soundfonts in the right place (/library/application support/emagic/sampler
instruments) but when I lauch the EXSP24, although it can see the .sf2 files in the
drop down menu, when I try to open them it pauses briefly, and then the file becomes
greyed out. In the 'sampler instruments' folder it creates a block folder with the
appropriate name, but it is empty.

My best guess is that there is some permissions problem, or the EXSP24 is not finding
a folder where it expects to see one. However, this is a pretty default installation and I
have changed nothing.

I think I am going to do a full reinstall and see if that corrects anything but your
insights are most welcome.

OK, the problem is not exactly solved but the issue is identified. Check this out, from
emagic support:

"The SoundFont import in the OSX version of the EXSP24 does not
currently work. Hopefully a future update of the plugin will fix this
problem.

Nice, eh? Advertise a crucial feature, then tell the sucker that 'hopefully' it will be
included in a later release. Meantime my EXSP demo window is closing and I have to
convert ALL the soundfonts I think I will ever need before it finishes. Great.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
