Actually, I got an S5000 version, and so used CDXtract. That format of 
QLBrass was discounted at the time. I don't remember using the merge 
program button. What is it that you think would be merged? Do you mean like 
fast attacks and sustains, where the fast attack might only be triggered 
above a certain velocity treshold? Please let me (us) know which programs 
need to be merged - I'm curious!

Gary,

I just read the booklet, and yeah, you should merge the programs. It is an 
S1000 memory limitation issue which meant that QL had to separate large 
sample sets into smaller sections (this is surely _not_ a problem with our 
wonderfully generous EXS). I didn't have that problem because I bought the 
S5000 version. In the S1000 version, each of the m, mp, f versions of some 
instruments are in separate programs (yikes!). By merging them, you can 
have each intensity/velocity reside on the same key instead of in a 
different program - much more musically rewarding (and fun).

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
