Keep an eye out on the unit if it runs hot. It's ususally a sign that one of the voltage regulator IC's in the back are going south. You shouldn't have to need a fan. We've done a ton of rig installations where the 2101 is in a tight rack, which are shipped around (tossed around by roadies) and still function nicely for years despite the abuse and the limited air flow in the racks. A good rule of thumb is to keep the poweramps in a separate rack.
