(i only mentioned all this as i know u probably get swamped w/questions from young kids just starting out!??)i think these units sound killer thru a marshall 9200 and 4x12 cab! i have a carvin ts100 on its way(hope it can do it some justice?)the 9200 was just too much weight and the Mesa 20/20 was too much$$ and the Mesa 50/50 made the 2101 sound bad for some reason?)lond story short i wanna figure out what i gotta do to load in a bunch of new presets??(didn't totally understand the info on dieters site and nozytoyz? plus i was concerned that there could b problems if u used the wrong program to load this stuff ect ect?? thanks Jim M > > > > > --------------------------------- > Be a PS3 game guru. > Get your game face on with the latest PS3 news and previews at Yahoo! As far as loading patches off of the internet, No problem, you do need to have a midi connection, and I actually am using a pc running windows 98ME which is perfect because it has a 15 pin gameport in the soundcard that has MIDI compatibility in the driver so all I had to do was get a simple gameport to midi cable I got from ebay for $5.00 and plugged it into my PC and GSP2101, I got the MIDIWizard software to interface between my pc and 2101 Worked right away, no problems!! I haven't used any of the other software available to interface with the GSP2101, but my gut feeling is that they are not as easy to use as MIDIWizard. (If you want to have a MIDI interface into a USB port you have to buy an adapter that interface the MIDI protocol and it costs more money) The MIDIWizard makes it real simple to load patches onto your 2101 (.syx files) - I went out to noizytoyz and pulled down the Eruption syx file and loaded up onto my 2101 and when I played I couldn't believe it!! (HOLY S*#$! - it sounds just like the album!!) Anyways thats my experience, I don't think you will have any problems if you take a little time and play around with the stuff - good luck!!
