As far as I know, the factory setting of switches 5 and 0 in banks 9 and 10 are "program up" and "program down". I'm sure that is written somewhere in manual (either 2101's or Control One's). You can set individual switches to do several things - see page 75, chapter 6 in the manual. But I guess you already know that ;-) Best regards, Marko On Thursday, October 24, 2013 7:38 PM, "me@..." <me@...> wrote: Since I bought my first GSP-2101 and Control One back in 1994, I’ve spent countless hours gigging with this setup and we, at the office, have many hours invested in our MIDIWizard software for the 2101. You’d expect us to know every intricate detail and idiosyncrasy of the 2101. So yesterday, I discovered an undocumented feature of my Control One that made my jaw drop. Some technical disclosure first; my 2101 has version 3.00.00.a chips installed and my Control One displays “DIGITECH FC VER 1.03” during power-up. I’d welcome some corroboration from any of you guys out there that the following behavior is not just peculiar to my setup. The Program/Bank/Tuner and Bypass footswitches on my Control One are configured as Bank Up and Bank Down switches (see page 82 of the Artist Owner’s Manual). In this mode, footswitches 1 through 0 operate as expected for all banks 1 through 8. It’s for bank 9 (programs 81 through 90) and bank 10 (programs 91 through 100) where things get interesting. For banks 9 and 10, footswitches 1 through 4 and 6 through 9 operate as expected. However, each press of switch 5 decrements the loaded program number and each press of switch 0 increments the loaded program number. What’s more interesting, and useful, is this “scrolling” behavior is not restricted to the currently loaded bank. Here’s an illustration of how you can put this to good use. First, select bank 1 and footswitch 1 to load program 1. Next, press the Bank Down (Bypass) footswitch to prepare to load bank 10. Successive presses of footswitch 0 load programs 2, 3, 4 and up through bank 1 and then 11, 12, 13 and up through bank 2, bank 3, etc. Footswitch 5 reverses the sequence back down to 1. One more press of switch 5 loads either program 255 or 215 depending on whether or not you have a PPC-210 co-processor board installed in your 2101. I don’t find this behavior documented anywhere in the owner’s manual and searching this forum didn’t come up with anything either. Please let me know what your experience is.
