thanks for the input, I'll give this configuration a try. but it seems that this one always has the full output of the 2101 going into the effects return of combo amp, and the full preamp of the combo amp going into the 2101. It seems that through algorithm programming you could control which preamp governs, but I was hoping for more of the flexibility shown in the set up described in the manual that allows both preamps to be present in all algorithms, controlled by whether the FX Loop is set to Sum, No Sum or Bypass. The problem with the set up on the manual is that you don't seem to ever be able to shut off the combo amp's preamp (i.e, the 2101 preamp, even when it should be primary, is alway "lurking" behind the combo's preamp). Perhaps its the shortcoming of using a "y" connector instead of having dual inputs on the combo amp. Any other users have luck with this setup?
