RE: [gsp-2101] eprom replacement

2003-04-09 by Greg Chabon

I upgraded a few years back from 2.x to 3.00.00.a

I noticed that the EPROMS fit VERY tight in my sockets. I also had to bend
the pins in a bit (which I understand is not unusual). To do this, place
the entire row of pins on a table ledge and GENTLY apply pressure so the row
bends in toward the middle of the EPROM package.

Wasn't a difficult job, very straightforward once I had the pins lined up.
I believe you do a hard reset so back up whatever you want to keep because
it will be gone after the installation.

Don't know about performance from 1.x, but from 2.x you got the Artist
patches, the tuner and I believe some of the digital effects were improved.
Check the digitech site and they probably have a software revision history.

Cheers.
