I had the same problem, when I was using Martin Ecker's "Patch Dumper" under
WindowsXP (under Windows 98 everything was OK).

 

I solved problem by changing the software:

 

To send MIDI bulk I started using "Dumpster" by David Churcher.

Cool thing about this program is that it automaticly stores an algorytm with
a patch, which Martin's program doesn't (at least to my knowledge).

Before I had some problems when dealing with user algorhytms. When dumping a
patch, which uses user algorhytm to GSP I had to send algorhytm separately.
Everything was fine until someday I send a wrong algorhytm to the GSP. The
machine locked and I had to remove the batery and whatnot to finaly awake my
beloved 2101. Than I found Dumpster and life was (is) fine again.

This program dumps patch to the GSP 2101 on exactly the same place from
which was recieved. (if it was dumped from No. 52, it will be sent to the
program No. 52). So to reserve a patch 100 for those patches is a good idea.

I use this program only to recieve patches from GSP 2101 to a computer. To
send patches to GSP 2101, I'm still using Maritn Ecker's "Patch Dumper".

 

This is solution No.1, No. 2 would be using Windows 98 again... So you
decide...
