There is nothing technically wrong with it. You will not harm the unit.
All the GSP cares about is a reasonably proper signal level input. As for what
would sound better, well, I have never had a problem feeding an over-driven
signal to the GSP, even when a GSP patch employs a compressor module. I do see
your point that it is better to have the compressor before, but there none
of these rules are set in stone.
Eh?

Subject: Re: [gsp-2101] looping a stompboxbut, is it ok to have a compressor after the over drive effect (if i put the over drive before 2101, so the compressor will be after the over drive in the algorythm), or should it be always before the over drive (in 2101 algorythm, the compressor is placed before overdrive...is it?)...thanx ChrisFerdi----- Original Message -----From: Chris SherwoodSent: Tuesday, May 01, 2001 5:21 AMSubject: RE: [gsp-2101] looping a stompboxFrom: Yulham Ferdiansyah [mailto:ferdian@...]guys, is it possible to play with stompboxes effects before goes to the input of 2101? (i.e: i want to play with boss turbo distortion & using the digital section of 2101 such as delay, chorus & reverb, & turn off the analog section of 2101 -the 2101 distortion section-)?Sure, I use a wah, an over-drive pedal and a volume pedal before I go into any amp or preamp.Chris
