Hi Chris:
Everything you need to check is on 2101's first
MIDI menu. To display the first MIDI menu, press
the [MIDI] button once. If
everything on this display is correctly set, then your 2101 must have a hardware
problem.
The 2101's MIDI "receive" channel must match the
channel you are sending messages on, channel 7 in your case. Use function
key [1] and the Data wheel to adjust this value.
Next, the MIDI In map must be set according to the
programs you want to load. To change these values, use the function
keys [2] and [3] and the Data wheel to change values. ; The factory
settings are: you receive MIDI Prg 1 as GSP Prg 1, MIDI Prg 2 as GSP Prg 2,
etc.
When you're finished changing these values, press
the [MIDI] button to return to the program display.
If everything looks good on this MIDI menu and your
2101 still doesn't respond to MIDI messages, and you're confident that your 2101
IS receiving MIDI messages because you've tested MIDI Thru, there's got to be a
hardware problem.
Please let us know what the eventual outcome
is. If the problem turns out to be other than a hardware problem, we need
to know !!!
Best Regards,
Graham Pearson
