Trouble-shooting a 2101 Artist

Trouble-shooting a 2101 Artist

2007-01-02 by dunkin_donut3

I recently purchased a unit off eBay and there seem to be several
problems. For the record, I have replaced the battery, done a hard
reset and traded out the tubes for known good ones. All the jacks and
switches work good.

1. If a patch uses a feedback setting in the reverb module I get a
continuous faint echo from it that does not go away. It does not decay.

2. Every patch has a distortion like buzz to it. This distortion
appears in every patch even with the distortion turned off. Even with
all effects bypassed. The distortion sounds like the tailing off of a
distortion you would select but happens when you hit the first note and
from there one while playing.

I was wondering where I should start troubleshooting these on the PCB.
Feel free to email be for more into or detail.

I'm going to send them an email today. I'm thinking of breaking out
the multimeter and soldering gun and take a look around.

Mine up and died a few months ago and I sent it in. Cost me all of 80
bucks and it came back just like new. Only problem... I didnt have any
good backups for all my work...lost all my custom presets that I had
been tweaking for years...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
