REQ Help&Advice...my 2101 Artist recently died...

2001-12-09 by Richard Soto

My 2101 Artist recently died while playing.
It just shut off... kaput, no display or anything! Like no power or something, one minute fine, the other minute dead. It happened while I was adjusting volume settings.
It was version 2.something & has the card upgrade.
Is this something I can pop open the hood & see if it needs a fuse or something (w/o soldering cause I dont wanna screw it up!) or is it recommended to send it out to DigiTech for them to fix it & also upgrade the software to the final version 3.something to bring it up to 100%?
BTW, how much would ya think it might cost to be fixed with also the software upgrade? Any advice/help/anything is truly appreciated!

If you don't want to solder- the only thing you can do is check the fuse and replace it if necessary.
Costs: I don't know. I think the original SV 3.00.x costs $99 ....
I have the software for about $40 (plus shipping and packing).
